About Splendiferous Jewellery Pieces
Freshwater Pearls Freshwater pearls are pearls which have formed in the shells of freshwater molluscs, commonly mussels. Most freshwater pearls are baroque pearls, meaning that they are irregularly shaped.
Cultured pearls Cultured pearls are made by inserting an irritant into the shell, commonly a piece of shell from another mollusk. The mollusk forms a layer of protective material called nacre over the foreign material, resulting in a pearl.
Rhodium Plating Rhodium is from the platinum family of precious metals. It is a lustrous, silver-white metal and is used in jewellery manufacture because of its brilliance, highly polished appearance and resistance to tarnish.
Platinum Plating Platinum is the most precious of white metals. Both platinum and silver have the appearance of a white metal, but platinum is extremely durable and resists oxidation and tarnishing.
Cubic Zirconia High quality synthetic stone that is very hard and mimics the appearance of diamonds more closely than any other gem material.
Nickel Free One of the more common metal allergies that people may have is to Nickel. Because of this all Splendiferous Jewellery is Nickel Free.
Copper Content Copper is the most common metal used to round out the 7.5 percent alloy balance in sterling silver. It adds hardness to pure silver, but brings with it a tendency to tarnish, a darkening that occurs when sterling silver reacts with gases in the air or with other substances that it comes in contact with. To alleviate this tendency to tarnish, Splendiferous Jewellery is plated with Platinum or Rhodium.
Can the rings be resized? As the sterling silver rings are plated with rhodium or platinum to minimize tarnishing, they can't be resized. Please use the ring sizing chart to ensure you select the correct size. |
